This book came into our studio as a CGC graded 7.5 slight professional restored but also labeled trimmed. The book itself had minor color touch areas along the spine and in the city scape, but the trimmed right edge (and top edge, too) was the main focus. Since the paper needed to be reintegrated at the top and right edges, it only made sense to build up all of the corners, reinforce the spine (as it was starting to split) and rework some of the color touch to try and improve the overall condition of the book to as best as possible. When this came back from CGC as a 9.0 (the second highest graded copy in existence) the client was ecstatic - an increase of 1.5 grades!
